US airlines test bio fuel flights

on December 10, 2011 in Uncategorized

Sοmе US airlines hаνе begun testing enviromentally friendly fuel. And whіlе thе efforts mау hеlр thе environment, disparate іn thе European Union, thе US government dοеѕ nοt force airliners tο gο green. Thе ecological benefits wουld bе undeniable – јυѕt one year’s avaiation traffic fuelled bу bio fuel wουld equal removing 64000 cars οff thе road. Bυt mаkіng thе switch саn bе expensive аnd here аrе nο long-term plans fοr companies tο υѕе alternative fuel οn a regular basis. Al Jazeera’s John Terrett reports frοm Washington.

    @bbphnix You certain this isnt just a publicity stunt ? Just like after a natural disaster & all these countries swear an oath billions in aid but really never pay up ( google if in doubt ). Though I suspect USAFinterest in alternative fuels is genuine. Napolean said “an army marches on its stomach”, well today its driven on its oil tank. As most wars are fought over resources, doeesnt matter how hi tech or how many weapons you have, if you havent got the fuel to power them.

    @FREEDOMTOAMERICA , I agree, why they have changed the name to Climate change. at least I can agree we are having “climate change.” if C02 was the real conundrum they should shut down the Ocean! one of the largest C02 producers around.. besides I thought C02 was the life gas

  3. proxy4718 says:

    BS! stop, stop, stop. Al jazeera we know you are controlled by the British that set up the median east a century ago. your a lame duck and have no influence. do us a favor and just shut up

  4. bbphnix says:

    US companies going green? is this Bizaro world? what happened to climate change being a scam? and won’t the companies producing air fuel be pissed over losing profits? Didn’t companies like persons rule America?

    well, here is some hope for that country yet!

    How long until the tinfoil hat nutters start claiming biofuel is really a secret government plot to apply more chemtrails in order to pacify us for the coming reptilian invasion? I give it a week, tops.

  9. TankT9 says:

    What next, military will use bio bombs and bio bullets? Never before dying would be so ecologically friendly. :P

  10. Mrmoc7 says:

    @Dookiedolf

    No. Environmentally friendly deathmachines kill two birds w/ one stone: They reduce our emission of carbon dioxide and reduce human population. That’s a win-win for the environment.

    @themadhackermatt
    U reckon if we have proper distribution infrastructure solves food shortage around the world? No. Cambodian and Vietnam did have proper road even thought it is not paved. It would cost a lot of money to distribute food and who is going to pay for the transportation and distribution networks?

  12. themadhackermatt says:

    @KhmerD0g You misunderstand my point. Here is a lack of food in certain parts of the world, right, but the transportation networks that would enable proper distribution of food to these needy areas are simply not in place. I lament this sorry state of contact and the outward lack of international help for a proper infrastructure that would enable distribution of food to seats that need it most.

    If “We the Public” used 6 percent of our arid soil, we could run the entire nations cars, trucks,etc on hemp fuel which produces less than 20% the Co2 than oil fuel. The downside is it would also be much cheaper than other fuels which would lower revenue brought in on the taxes compared to oil based fuels…I wonder why the powers at be banned hemp use for industrial purposes and made the marijuana prohibition act…

  14. adventuresineurope says:

    Hemp for fuel food and structure!

    @DualCutts “Cost more crude oil to make Bio fuel”
    Depends on the bio fuel.. here’s fascinating research with sea-weed ATM.
    ie Like long lines that go miles out to sea, at a snail’s pace be reeled in.. looped at the other end.. constant sea weed coming in.. thousands of lines, mops up farm spill fertilizer algae too.
    It is then chemically reduced to be more like oil, not just burnt.
    Everything in water, wave rocking to pull lines, sun drying adds dampness to air.
    Researching planes meantime is excellent IMO.

  22. ZirconCode says:

    @Dookiedolf No, eliminating humans is environmentally friendly.

    i reckon recycling is fantastic for the environment. but i have to agree 100% public are becoming EFFING CRAZY!!!! even though recycling is ok, considering the number of fossil fuels we continue to burn or the number of trees we keep tearing down, recycling has small to Absolute no impact compared to the hurt we are doing. Personally, i reckon this whole reduction the environment isnt for the environment’s sake, its for our own sake of living longer and in a clear place.
    ANYWAYS, fantastic vlog Josh! :-)
