Organic Salads

Salad as a Rock

10.19.2009

The Bite:
Want a healthy lunch guaranteed to fill you up? Rely on Molly's Salads. Not your average pile of lettuce, these tasty salads are chock-full of seasonal, organic veggies like carrots, peppers, and green beans from Local Roots and Full Circle Farm (with more root veggies like beets now that it's fall), and cheese from River Valley Ranch. Pick from made-fresh-daily dressings like Lemon Mustard, Balsamic, Raspberry, or Basil Vinaigrette. Then, within Seattle, get it delivered by bike or pick it up in a compostable container. Count on it.
Why Care?:
Salads made with organic veggies mean no pesticides for lunch, and eating fresh WA produce in Washington cuts way down on transport emissions.
We always stick with our fave Olympic Salad: apples, feta, walnuts, and dried cranberries, topped with Basil Vinaigrette. Yum.
Wanna Try:

Cocktail Fact

The Caesar salad is thought to have been invented in the 1920s at a restaurant of the same name in Tijuana, Mexico.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters opt for a salad made with a half pound of local produce rather than stuff grown elsewhere, we'll save enough diesel fuel to fill nearly three bathtubs.
