2 Minutes Moderate Intensity – You can still maintain a conversation but your breathing is heavy.

Low Carb Day

Breakfast:
1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
1 banana
2 stalks celery
1 dash Stevia
Snack:
Cottage Cheese on the Border (Blend 1 cup nonfat cottage cheese with 3 tablespoons salsa and add ½ cup chopped tomato. Serve with 1/3 of a sliced avocado.)
Lunch:
Asian Wraps
Snack:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake
(Blend 1 scoop chocolate protein powder with 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter and ½ cup unsweetened almond milk.)
Dinner:

    just wanted to let you guys know im doing chris’s weight loss program now and one rule i know is a must to lose weight is eat five times a day to build your metablisim up if you eat less you wont lose it so it needs to be five times a day. My day consists of on low carb days its 7 am its protein shake 10 am is a mid morning snack 1 P.M is lunch 4 pm is an afternoon snack and 7 pm is dinner on high carb days its 7 am protein shake 10 am snack 1 pm protein shake and 4 pm snack and 7 pm dinner

    • I’ve read a copy of the overall plan but I didn’t come across any info breaking down the low and high days in terms of calories for protein/carb/fat which i think would be essential to know. The “hand-size” estimation technique he uses seems very prone to error. How do you know what and how much to eat for each of the 5 meals? How many grams (or calories) of carbs is considered low or high ?

      • I just picked up the new book today and I have the exact same questions as you. This visual estimation sucks. He could have given some ratios for example in Bob Harper’s book he gives you a 40/40/20 ratio for protein, carbs ect

    I’ve raised my exhusbands nephew since birth(he is in every way that counts my son) any way he is now 18yrs old,6ft tall and weighs 350lbs. I would like Chris Powell to help him get excited about loosing weight.he has said that he wants to but I just don’t know how to help him because I’m also over weight and work 10hrs a day six days a week so really if anyone can give me some tips or anything I would be so gratefull.

I am referring to a news story I heard about a member of the Nazi Low Rider gang carjacked an SUV belonging to Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition star Chris Powell in Mesa, Arizona while his nanny and baby son were on board. Police said Powell’s nanny Kaitlyn McGrath and son Cash Powell were able to flee the vehicle before gang member Jasper Stewart rode off in it Friday.

  8. Hey, if Chris Powell publishes a workout and diet guide, who are we to doubt him. His track record speaks for itself, and you can see it first hand on both of his reality shows, The Biggest Loser and his new reality show where he moves into his client’s home to monitor their training on a daily basis. I think that is quite a unique concept.

  9. I agree with James Thomas I would be willing to do anything that Jillian Michaels, Bob Harper or Chris told me to do. There is one thing that I haven’t seen any of them come out with and that is a pilates exercise tape. I wonder why that is, they have yoga but not pilates. What is the main difference anyway? And how do you feel about intermittent fasting Chris? Please reply.

He went to Louisiana to surprise one of his fans who had sent him a video of her successful weight loss journey. So he crept up behind her while she was on the lifecycle at her local gym and it was a heart warming thing to watch her get emotional. The important thing is she’s lost 130 pounds.

I wish I could ask him a question about fasting for 24 hrs. twice a week, is it good for you, does it slow your metabolism down or speed it up, does it help you lose fat or hinder you because your body retains everything thinking it is starving? I just want to know for sure because it would be easy for me to fast.

I have seen this show before and I have to admit I liked it even better than the Biggest Loser because it shows the motivational part of getting someone to really take a deep look inside themselves and see where the problem stems from. People have to do that in order to lose any weight and really keep it off, if it is just for TV it won’t last and they will gain it back.

  16. All you need to do is watch an episode of Biggest Loser or his new show which features himself moving into the home of a person who needs his help. Watching one of those episodes is like getting a free preview of him in action. You quickly realize that he knows his stuff. So I have learned to trust his advice and I have tried high – low carbohydrate eating plans, and they work.

  17. I have not hit rock bottom. In fact, I need to lose only a few pounds of body fat (less than 10). So I could use any help in the form of tips to improve my diet, but I would like to do it without having to count calories. If I can just follow a guildeline and estimate food consumption, that would be favorable for me. The Powel principles do make a lot of sense.

  19. Dorothy, I would bet that it cost $100′s because their time is precise and they work hard to get that kind of knowledge so that they can help people. I would also bet that they come out and evaluate the situation before they commit to helping you as well because so many people out there ask for help but they aren’t really serious about it.

  20. Once you have been working out for a good amount of time (for me its been over two decades), you need to find ways to stay motivation. Sometimes, motivation need Not come from some exterior thing, but rather, from within. What I am talking about is having a reason that means a lot to you. If you find that reason(s), you will always be motivated. For me, it is my self image and vanity.

  22. What does a personal trainer cost you. I want someone that will come show me what to eat and what not to eat but I don’t want him to come in and take my coffee away, if you know what I mean? I have tried numerous different work outs trying to not let my body get used to anyone particularly work out to boost my metabolism but it isn’t working.

    • I dont think he would take your coffee – that would be a dirty trick! mostly would just help you get rid of any junkfood in your fridge/cupboard. you could make sure to keep your coffee by stashing it in a safe place!

Charlotte, I agree he does have a completely different approach and he is so dedicated and compassionate to these people, where Jillian and Bob with be hard on them and make them believe that they don’t feel sorry for them, which in a way is good unless that person didn’t have a chose due to a health problem. Otherwise it is their fault they are the way they are.

He really changes the lives of the people he works with, if I could get on the show I would but I only need to lose about 30 pounds so I don’t think he would take me.     I have watched this show before and found it to be very interesting. He has a completely different approach to people then Jillian or even Bob has on Biggest Loser. He was very inspiring and motivational to them, like he truly cares about their well being. I am not saying that Jillian and Bob didn’t I am just saying it was different. I can’t wait to try it.

  27. I am going to have to get this and give it a try because nothing I seem to do on my own works for me. I am told by my husband that I should just get comfortable with the way I am but I can’t. I am physically uncomfortable and refuse to buy bigger clothes. I hope that this can help me and he will one day understand.

I saw a short biography on him and the report indicated that at one point in his life, Chris was also out of shape before he decided to change the quality of his life.   30. I would love to be on his show but I have lost weight and I am back to the point where I want to lose more because I am still not happy with the way I’m. I watched his video on motivation and he is right that is what happens when you lose motivation you break a promise that you mad to yourself and you fail, but what if that promise was broke by necessity?

  31. This was great I need to check the library and things for books and stuff that he wrote so I can learn more from him. I lost 72 pounds and then I had to take a forced break from the exercise and diet I was used to for about 6 months and so I started gaining it back I’m not sure how much I gained back because I’m scared to get on a scale.

    Well, if there is one professional trainer you should trust in, it should be a renowned, high profile trainer like Chris Powell. I mean, it’s not like you can’t see how he works and the results he gets (on TV), for that matter. The proof is on the tape of his show. I would be inclined to try anything that both he and Jillian Michaels say you should try.
